Kit Carson Park
Commercial Playground Construction | City of Los Alamitos
Project Overview
Project Details
Spanning nearly 300 acres, Kit Carson Park is Escondido’s largest regional park and one of the city’s most diverse outdoor recreation destinations. The park combines developed sports and recreation areas with extensive natural open space and is home to Queen Califia’s Magical Circle, Niki de Saint Phalle’s colorful sculpture garden. In 2024, Western State Builders installed the park’s playground, adding another family-focused recreation space to this unique Escondido destination.
The playground features commercial play equipment with climbing, sliding, and interactive elements, along with safety surfacing and shade for comfortable everyday use. Set among Kit Carson Park’s athletic fields, trails, picnic areas, courts, fitness amenities, and open space, the playground gives younger visitors their own place for active play within a park designed to offer something for nearly every type of recreation.
